Widow

Mary was widow to literature long before Eamon James Gilbert died.

He was a man famed in library circles for his fear of failure and love of secrecy.

Patricia once complained about the lack of room for new books and was told to get his staff to bury the surplus of old ones.

Thus the rumour persisted that being true librarians, they did what they were told, and each corpse that went through the gates of Prospect Cemetery went to the earth with a book.
